PH belt wears out over time. If you notice any of the following, replace it immediately:
- Abnormal noise: Abnormal screeching noise usually indicates that PH belt is slipping or severely worn.
- Unusual odour: If you smell burning rubber, it may be that PH belt is rubbing abnormally against the pulley, causing localised overheating. This is usually also a sign of belt ageing or failure.
- Surface ageing/cracking: Check the surface of PH belt for cracks, hardening, notches, etc., which are signs of rubber ageing or stress fatigue and require replacement.
- Decreased tension: PH belt tends to lose tension over time. When you notice that the tensioning device is no longer able to effectively tension the belt, or when the PH belt is noticeably loose, it should be replaced.

If there is a clear model mark on PH belt, simply read it directly. The mark on PH belt is “6PH1930”, where “6” indicates ribs, “PH” indicates the model, and 1930 indicates the effective length (mm).
